For the past weeks, I went on my blog to write something because I felt obligated to write something that I felt obligated to write…. But then I realized that a blog is simply an oasis to write freely about whatever I felt like; meaning that the duration between new blogs is directly proportional to the inspiration and willingness to write something. So today, I fee like writing something, something that will solve world hunger…. forever….
Anyways, just recently at school, I looked at a group of girls and wondered “I wonder what they look like without make-up.” I don’t know about every girl out there, but to me, a little mascara here and some face powder er whatever it’s called there and you can completely change the facial appearance of an individual. So then this started to get me thinking; what if all of the woman and girls of the world stopped using make-up? Wait, let me restate that, what if make- up was never invented or created? Random reader that I don’t know, do you realize the significance and impact such a thing would have on today’s society? First of all, we wouldn’t really have businesses to market these products (since they don’t exist), and that would lead to a chain of other non existent businesses that directly profit from the initial business itself. For example, let’s say _______ (I don’t know any make-up brand) was never created; well then, the business that creates the products would never exist. Without those businesses having something to produce, they would probably never exist. And without much of these large businesses all in the competition of creating newer and better cosmetics, the media itself would completely change; showing what people truly look like, and discerning true beauty from “fake beauty”. This would probably eliminate people that are famous for their distinct style, highly influenced by their make-up style. For example, let’s take the individual …. Lady Gaga. Take the appearance of her, and mentally imagine her without any make- up, a tamed normal pony tail and wearing a normal blue colored blouse instead of her normal sexually provocative clothing. What do you see? Well I don’t know about you, but I see a history teach for some reason…. o.0?
So one day, I had a mini experiment with this concept of mine; I announced to girls that “Tuesday is no make-up day”. And unsurprisingly I was replied with very steadfast and emotional replies of simply “no!” or “impossible!” or “uhhhhhh………….. no”. So what does this prove?! This experiment of mine can be interpreted as many intriguing questions that I now wonder over;
1. Are girls/woman that "embarrassed" or "ashamed" of their true looks in public?
2. Does make-up provide a sort of "barrier" or "shield" to conceal their true identity and feelings?
3. Can make-up alter the way some people think or act?
4. Why do some girls wear make-up and some don't?
5. Is the influence of wearing make-up solely based on the media?
6. If you are a girl that wears make-up currently reading this; If everybody stopped wearing make-up, would you?

These are far from mere random thoughts, David. You look at a serious issue in a pleasingly light-hearted manner, which to me is quite masterful ... I particularly like the series of questions you pose in the end. Indeed, those are questions that not only girls, but maybe boys should think about too ...
For your information, not many high school girls in Hong Kong wear make-up. So I think at least there is at least the cultural factor at play ...
I liked this piece a lot, David. =)
does that mean you will find a girl with true beauty?
To Vaughan: Thank you!
To Anonymous: Yes I will TRY to find a girl that has true beauty (outwardly and inwardly). Why you ask? Because I think like this; from the ages of marriage 20ish to 30ish, is roughly only 10 years. But then, for from ages 30ish to 60+ is 30 years+. I'd MUCH rather have a girl that is beautiful forever, than for a short period of time only to realize what I've gotten myself into later on
